State Representative Jim Struzzi was sworn into office as the state representative of the 62nd Legislative District in Indiana County in January 2019. Like many citizens raised in western Pennsylvania, he was instilled with the traditional values of hard work, personal integrity and community service. Rep. Struzzi is committed to protecting those values in the state Capitol, while fighting to reduce government spending, eliminate burdensome taxes, create more family-sustaining jobs, improve the climate for businesses, and ensure that the agriculture industry has the proper tools and support it needs to be successful.

Many years of experience as a journalist, press secretary with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) for District 11 and president of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce have provided Rep. Struzzi with a varied and solid understanding of both government and private industry.

Rep. Struzzi has worked hard in Harrisburg to establish himself as a leader, build relationships on both sides of the aisle, and ensure that proposed legislation benefits everyone here at home. Rep Struzzi serves on the House Appropriations, Human Services, Insurance, and Children and Youth committees. His place on these important committees gives Indiana County residents a strong voice on many crucial matters.

Rep. Struzzi is also a member of the Oil and Gas, Early Childhood Education, Mental Health, Parks and Recreation, Coal, Blue Lives Matter, Pro-Life, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), 2nd Amendment, Criminal Justice Reform, Arts and Culture, and Pharmacy caucuses, which are more informal groups where members gather to discuss issues critical to those subjects.

He continues to work to address and eliminate school property taxes. He is an ardent pro-life and 2nd Amendment supporter. In addition, drug addiction is a personal issue for his family, and he has worked hard to help solve the crisis.

Since taking office, Rep. Struzzi authored 41 House Bills and Resolutions and co-sponsored more than 750 proposed pieces of legislation.

Rep. Struzzi’s district includes the boroughs of Armagh, Blairsville, Clymer, Creekside, Homer City, Indiana and Shelocta; and the townships of Armstrong, Brush Valley, Buffington, Burrell, Center, Cherryhill, East Wheatfield, Pine, Washington, West Wheatfield and White. The district will also expand in December 2022 to include Saltsburg Borough and Young, Conemaugh, and Black Lick townships.

He lives in White Township with his wife, four children and their dog. Rep. Struzzi enjoys spending time with family, hunting and fishing, reading, music and sports.
